Audible: For All Fans of Audiobooks Review
Audible is a mobile app for Android and iOS, which gives you access to hundreds of podcasts and audiobooks. With this app you can get hours of educational, entertaining, philosophical and thrilling audios. Download Audible and improve yourself through listening!
Functionality — 4/5
Audible app provides a rich collection of stuff worth a listen. Here you’ll find interesting, brainy and controversial podcasts:
- 600 Seconds Saga;
- The Ricky Gervais Show;
- Infection Point;
- So Many White Guys;
- Ladies We Need to Talk, and many others.
Audible’s series cover all genres possible: comedy, politics, psychology, sex & marriage, paranormal, self-development, finances and so forth.
But it’s not just about podcasts. Our Audible review promises you will get to listen to such hits as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Game of Thrones, Sherlock Holmes novels, Atomic Habits, The Barefoot Investor and other blockbusters.
For your convenience, you can save your beloved podcasts and books to the device. In case, you won’t have any connectivity/Wi-Fi soon — like during a plane flight — you will still get your dosage of the finest audio entertainment.
Design — 3/5
Since Audible latest update, the app saw some unhappy changes. Now you can’t choose a custom ski forward/back value anymore. Besides, the app begins to automatically play whenever your gadget connects to Bluetooth speakers, headphones or even another smartphone/tablet.
As for the rest, you get a nice set of standard features:
- Sleep timer;
- mp3 audio files download;
- Narration speed customization;
- Multiple device synchronization.
The last feature allows you to manage your time with Audible wisely. The app goes dormant after a chapter of a book/podcast has been finished. Or you can set your custom period of time that the app will be entertaining you for.
Usability — 4/5
Audible is a nice app for all podcast and literature fans. Just like Netflix, the platform has its own exclusive titles you won’t find anywhere else: Evil Has a Name, Heads Will Roll, Promise Me Dad narrated by Joe Biden and 64th Man, starring John Cena.
Cross-platform use — 5/5
The app is available for all mobile devices powered by Android and iOS. It can work even on older gadgets since the oldest supported Audible Android version is 4.1.
Audible offers a 30-day free trial. During that period you can snatch one book and two originals for free. After that, you have to pay the monthly fee: $16,45.
When the fee has been paid, you can listen online all you want, and you will also get some credits for downloading books and podcasts. If you run out of them, each extra download will charge you $14.95.
The Bottom Line
Audible is a nice, although pricey, app for all fans of audiobooks. It has an impressive repertoire of original podcast series, a huge collection of both classic and new books. As well as legendary bestsellers you’ve heard so much of, but had no time to read.Collapse
Audible has a rich collection of premium podcasts and literature. Download Audible and be entertained while your eyes rest!
