Member Tools: Up-to-Date for Church of Jesus Christ Review

Review Standarts
Our main goal is to provide full and useful app reviews. Our authors strictly follow the rules: minimum 15 hours of the real app usage experience or gameplay, test on main Android and iOS versions, test on phones and tablets.

If you belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this app helps you keep in touch with other members of your ward and stake. Download Member Tools, as your little warm church inside your smartphone!

Functionality 5/5
Read More

The app’s mission is to help you stay in touch with other members of your ward and stake. It’s a sort of social network; you can read other members’ pages, see their pics and profiles, contact them, schedule and attend meetings at the spots you can also find with the app. It’s a virtual representation of your local community.

Design 5/5

The design of the app is sort of Spartan, which corresponds with the overall LDS Church style. Its elements are strictly functional; it’s like ad-less Facebook version. There’s nothing bizarre or exquisite, and it’s easy to figure out. The app is sure to work on weak devices, not forcing you to spend your money on a new smartphone or tablet, which is also logical.

Usability 4/5

Registering in this app isn’t available for anyone; it needs to be approved by your local authorities. When you have your credentials approved, you can use them for entering the app. Then you get access to your community life via Member Tools. The app connects you to your community within your ward and stake. You can also create custom lists (like contact lists in messengers or other social apps).

There are also tools for local real-life activity, like the calendar for meetings, meetinghouse locations on the map, search system, and so on. This app is not here to replace but to assist. You can also set reminders for important events right within it. The authorities can have reports on important events, see members’ profiles or contact them directly.

Along with your local ward and stake, you can contact missionaries from your ward that are away for the moment. This delivers you the feeling of continuity. In the end, if the world gets bigger, it shouldn’t make spiritual bonds weaker.

Cross-Platform Use 5/5

The app is available for both iOS and Android. No matter what version of this OS you use (except for the very old); the app doesn’t require it to be the newest. If you don’t want to upgrade your phone, the app won’t force you to. But getting your account ready means contacting your authorities.

In-App Purchases

None. Selling apps for its members is not what Latter-Day Saints Church uses to earn. The app is free for all its members; but you’ll need to get your authorization in real life.

The Bottom Line

If you live an active life within your Mormon community, this app will be of great use. So download Member Tools to stay connected with your ward and stake; when you need help, a good word, or just a reminder, this app will make you closer for helping hands, and, on the contrary, it will make you a better friend and believer.

Conclusion

It’s a must for LDS Church members that lead an active social life, so if you are one, download Member Tools as soon as you can.

Pros : The app covers most aspects of church life;
Low system requirements;
Unified for regular members and authorities;
Protected from unauthorized access;
Free for all members.

Cons : Requires more apps (for example, The Book of Mormon standalone app);
Doesn’t make sense until you contact your authorities.
