PDF Reader — Simple EBook Assistant Review
PDF Reader is a mobile tool, which allows you to open and read electronic books in numerous formats. Store a whole library on your gadget, tweak the font, switch between day and night modes and do other ergonomic adjustments. Download PDF Reader to enjoy your treasured books and comics!
Functionality – 4/5
PDF Reader Android app has a rich repertoire of clever features. You can select day and night modes, with the latter allowing you to lessen the pressure your eyes get when staring at the screen in the dark. The list of mainstream formats is impressive: EPUB, FB2, Comics Books, RTF, PDF, DjVu.
PDF Reader free app allows you to do a lot of tweaking. E.g., background texture can be adjusted to your liking, there's a brightness knob on the left side of the screen, pages can be set to scrolling or animated paper book-like turning. Also, there's an auto-scroll function — something that lazy readers might heartily appreciate.
Besides, bookmarks can be exported to a text file if you fear that your gizmo may experience a sudden hard reset. The app knows how to read books from compressed archives, mainly ZIP. There's integrated dictionary support with GoldenDict, Aard Dictionary, and others. And some users might put its text-to-speech feature to good use.
Design – 3/5
The app feels minimalistic — there's a nice image of a bookcase with wooden shelves, which represents your digital library. Options and settings are located at the top of the screen and there's no visual clutter whatsoever. At the same time, PDF Reader apk has a tendency to crash, especially when processing a large PDF file for the first time. Sometimes it fails to browse your books.
Usability – 4/5
With a cornucopia of eBook formats and settings that improve the reading experience, PDF Reader is a mighty free app to have. It can handle documents, study materials, Japanese manga, comic books, and other literature.
Cross-platform use – 3/5
So far, there's only a PDF Reader Android version to try. No iOS, Blackberry or Kindle Fire adaptations can be found. It requires at least Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) to run, which means the app isn't too demanding.
In-app purchases – 3/5
PDF Reader free download won't require you to pour in extra cash. However, it is brimming with ads and dealing with them can be infuriating. It's advised to deactivate your connection while reading.
The Bottom Line
The app isn't fancy, too gorgeous and does have certain flaws. Nonetheless, our PDF Reader review recommends it as a decent eBook tool which can be exploited to its fullest absolutely for free. In case you don't mind a loud pop-up every time you begin/finish reading.Collapse
PDF Reader download might prove being a worthy idea for fiction reading, studying or working with documentation.
