AREA CODE SELECTOR – Local or not, you can select the area code of your 2nd number.

NUMBER PORTING – Already have a 2nd number? Bring it with. Porting lets you transfer existing numbers to Sideline from another device or landline.

CARRIER RELIABILITY – Most calling apps only work over Wi-Fi. Unlike them, Sideline uses your existing cellular network. This gives you the same great call quality you get from your regular number.

TEXTING & CALLING – Texting is free and unlimited. Calling works with your carrier plan so your minutes (which are probably unlimited) get shared between your two numbers.

CUSTOM VOICEMAIL – Greet callers with a voicemail for your Sideline Number. You’ll sound more professional and keep your work and personal voicemails separate.

    I have been using this app for about a year as my main business line. In general, Sideline does what it’s supposed to do. I can text and call using the phone number that it has provided me. I don’t mind that they went to a subscription, because ads are irritating. In my opinion, $10 a month for another line is a fair cost (for one that works well). That being said, there are a few issues with it that should be addressed. 1. The phone number I have is being used by spammers. I have gotten a few people calling me saying that my Sideline number is calling their iPads, when I know for a fact that I did not call these people. 2. Caller ID is glitchy. Sometimes the contact doesn’t show up, and it just says “incoming Sideline call” with the phone number. Even more annoyingly, at other times, the contact shows up, but it’s the wrong person. I will answer the phone thinking it is John Smith, because that’s what the caller ID says, but it turns out it is a totally different person. I have a made a fool of myself a couple times answering the phone, saying, “Hey John!” And they respond with, “This isn’t John. It’s Bob.” 3. The app doesn’t fully support iPhone X. The app does WORK on the iPhone X, but it is not integrated like Apple’s messaging or phone apps. Sideline doesn’t utilize the entire screen, making the app unattractive to use on the X. Like some other apps that haven’t been updated, it has black bars covering the top and bottom of the screen, as if I were still using my old iPhone 6. For those of you that are on the fence about getting Sideline, it definitely works. If you need a business line, it gets the job done, but you do have to deal with some issues. Hopefully now that people are paying for the service, they will work on getting these issues resolved.

    I use this app to run a phone # for my business. As a free app, the glitchiness and error prone nature of the beast was forgivable. Frequently getting the “to keep your number private, please use the in app dialer” message was tolerable. Now that the app is $10/month this is unacceptable. The app frequently does not work at all, people can’t hear me all the time and I get the aforementioned error messages to the point where it’s 1 out of every 2 days I can’t use it. Ringing it at $10 per month this is the most expensive app I have. It is by far the glitchiest and most likely to fail out of every app I have. DROP THE PRICE TIL YOU ARE WORTH $10 PER MONTH. I use this app begrudgingly because there isn’t anything else i’ve run into that will act like a second number. “Free didn’t guarantee sidelines future”? Well neither does $10 per month and losing subscribers bc the app doesn’t work. Also, it’s an actual racket that you hold phone numbers hostage and charge $25 to port a number out. It is total bull%hi+ bc I know for a fact that it doesn’t cost money TO SIDELINE for me to port a number to another carrier. Nailing the customers coming, in the middle and leaving.

    Please note that this update doesn't support the iPhone X. The update should have supported the latest iPhone and its features. First you guys update the app but never integrate any of Apple's OS features like CallKit. VoiceMail doesn't work over Bluetooth reliably. You don't use any backend solution to filter Robocalls or telemarketers or SCAM calls. I get so many of these calls that I'm spending a lot of time swiping and blocking them. This should be done on the network level!!!! Line2 uses CallKit on iOS and i can use third-party apps to filter my calls. The pinger network is blocked at work so my only choice is to use VPN. You should have a built in VPN client for those connections that are blocked. Finally if you update the app, I'd like to know what's changed. What's fixed? Any known issues? (No need to advertise security vulnerabilities). I also think grandfathered users should be able to keep their old plans or migrate to the $2.99 plan (if they are free users). This will be my last year before i cancel this service unless drastic changes are made.
