Vivaldi Beta: It’s Something Really New Review

Guidelines
All the authors that work on this project are required to follow our guidelines. To make the most out of the app testing process, our authors launch it on various smartphones and tablets with not only the latest OS', but also the previous ones.

Vivaldi Beta is a brand new mobile version of the Vivaldi desktop browser that became popular for its advanced customization features. The mobile bundle provides nearly the same flexibility level, so it’s an excellent alternative for all those Google Chromes, Operas, and Mozillas. You can download Vivaldi Beta right now on Google Play for your Android tablet or smartphone.

Functionality – 4.5/5
Read More

The Vivaldi Beta app can really impress you. It provides a full-featured cross-platform workflow with quick-access links, integrated notes, screenshot maker, and a powerful security firewall. It also supports all popular search engines by default. In all its diversity, Vivaldi Beta doesn’t have a VPN module and an ad-block.

Design – 5/5

Vivaldi Beta latest version reminds Safari in some places, but it’s mostly original, so you won’t mistake it for any other app. Its head color is red, but it keeps the interface white for the most of the time. The navigation bar includes such buttons as go back/forward, the search button, the panel switcher, and the tab switcher for fast access to other active tabs. The home screen supports launch folders so that you can group all your favorite websites manually.

Usability – 4.5/5

Vivaldi Beta is a promising browsing solution for mobile devices. It allows you to customize the workflow to make it suit your everyday needs. Start from creating folders for your top links, set up the most useful search engines, and go. It supports Duck-Duck Go, Wikipedia, Bing, Yahoo, Yandex, Google, Rambler, and some others by default. You can switch between them right in the address bar, by entering prefixes. If you’re keen on reading articles and stuff, you will enjoy the reading mode that can turn any page into a convenient page for scrolling. Font size and background color are adjustable too. The manageable express panel is a previously unseen feature that lets you pile up links into folders and sub-folders. It’s the fastest way to browse that we’ve ever seen on mobile.

Cross-platform use – 5/5

At the moment of publishing this Vivaldi Beta review, there was only an Android mobile version available. However, if you’re a fan of this OS, you can easily combine it with the Mac OS or Windows versions. Cross-platform synchronization works perfectly well. Log in with one account, and you will have all your tabs, history, and favorites synced immediately.

In-app purchases

For now, the app is absolutely free and doesn’t annoy with ads. Developers say that the full release will remain free with all the features available by default. Hopefully, they will add support of plug-ins to make it more suitable for specific work tasks.

The Bottom Line

The free Vivaldi Beta is one of the best alternative web browsers available for Android and computers today. Its deeply customizable flow is a real catch. Actually, it’s a user experience that you can create on your own.
