On a recent road trip with my sister, I impulsively purchased a beautiful parlor guitar despite never having played. Determined to learn, I paid for the full version of another app only to get frustrated when the lessons advanced too quickly and I found myself struggling. After reading online reviews extensively, I signed up for a one-month subscription to this app. OMG, it is so worth it! The beginner lessons by Lisa McCormick are exactly what I needed! She is thorough, encouraging and clearly knowledgeable. While not experienced on guitar, I was quite musical in my youth and could play several woodwinds, sang and dabbled in piano. 25+ years later, my musicianship is pretty rusty. Guitar is so different from my previous musical pursuits, but the lessons in this app are providing great results nonetheless. These lessons are appropriate for beginners of any age or musical ability. The approach is methodical and well-paced. After only a week, I have already switched to an annual subscription as I can only see myself improving with this app. Awesomeness!! Unsolicited advice to anyone just learning: Remember to practice the concepts in each lesson until you are very comfortable with them before moving on. There is no app or shortcut to learning any instrument and the old 'Practice, practice, practice!' mantra always holds true. Be patient with yourself and the will come.

I am fast approaching my 69th birthday and I've been playing the guitar since 1959. I am always interested in anything I can use to increase my knowledge of my instrument. I played professionally throughout the 60's, 70's and into the early 80's. I like the way the instructors break everything down into sections. It is refreshing to have the variety of styles, and instructors to choose from. I've learned quite a lot from these guys & gals. Rock, country pick, bluegrass on!
