RenWeb Home Description

RenWeb Home is a great tool to access ParentsWeb straight from your device wherever you are. It contains all of the personal information of your child and gives the ability to make calls, send emails and search addresses.

With the RenWeb Home app, you’ll be able to see important events at your child’s school in the weeks to come, as well as key calendar dates such as parent’s evening.

Pros

The RenWeb Home app lets you stay on track of your child’s school progress and see any homework and assignments they may have been given.

Cons

There is a cost to this app which outweighs its usefulness. After a recent update, you can now only see homework one day at a time.

Can you tell I'm being sarcastic? You probably can, by looking at the little emoji I used up there. In reality, this app definitely needs major work. There are some good things about it, like the school directory (the only feature I actually use right now) and week at a glance so you can always know what's going on, but then there's other problems too, like how whenever I try to get help for a certain section (school, student, family) the app tells me "page not found!!" as if it's really happy that it's not working, or how when I have a section set to go to a certain area (ex: I set the student section to immediately go to homework when I opened it) it goes to an area of its choice no matter what I set it to, not to metion the app automatically logs you out if there's no service where you are so you can't even use it and the whole interface is extremely outdated (iphone 3/4 style). Trust me people, the website isn't much better, but it's way better than this sorry excuse for an app. The app is very limited, but you have a lot more options on the website, which is much more user friendly, AND it's free, so I would say the website wins over this. I will admit, the app was an awesome idea, but it has less than awesome quality. I'm only keeping it because it is required by the school if you have a smartphone, but I rarely ever use it anymore.

We've been attempting to use this app and the entire Renweb system for a few years and it is beyond frustrating!!! I can't even update my password without going to the school because of some glitch. Now we get the daily emails which hurt way more than they help because, as so many other reviews are saying, so many teachers do not update current info, but a very few do, so as a parent you have NO idea what or who to believe. Seriously, between being NOT user-friendly and so horribly used this app and the emails have been a constant source of frustration and confusion. I am not a technophobe, I embrace advances when they happen, and Renweb is a huge step backward. Honestly, if teachers simply used grade books, kids turned in assignments on paper by handing them in, and we got report cards - circa 1970's - it would be better than Renweb. I gave it one star because I couldn't give it zero stars.

I’ve used this app for 3 years and while not perfect, it worked well for my needs. I understand I have to pay each year to renew, but I seem to be on a circular loop where it just keeps kicking me out. I’d like to pay to renew, but am never given the option even though it says I will be at login. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app several times in the hopes of forcing the payment option. Each time it logs me in like there’s no issue, only to kick me out again and NEVER provide a payment re-up option. Very frustrating and going to give up on it.
