There is no app besides Netflix that even touches the functionality and availability that amazon video brings to your tablet, smart television, or phone. Unlike Netflix or Hulu, (don’t get me started on how terrible Hulu is now, and on top of that there are actually longer and more commercial breaks on Hulu than regular television now which is so absurd) where one is limited to a small finite amount of users, which is a max of 5 for the most expensive plan which will be going up $2 a month starting in December. Hulu I am pretty sure only allows one person on a tablet, phone or computer to use at once, whereas Amazon does not restrict you in the same ways. I am sure there are a max amount of people that can use amazon video at once but with 5 tablets, 2 TVs, and 4 phones I have not hit the max amount yet. Content on Amazon is very different from Netflix so in all honesty if you are tired of the outrageous cable bills every month I recommend signing up for Netflix and Amazon prime, which is all inclusive which also offers unlimited no minimum dollar amount for free 2 day overnight shipping on all Amazon held items which is roughly 70% of items you see on the amazon market place. You also get a deeply discounted music service which is identical to the Apple Music but 1/3 the price and you get to try it for 3 months for free. There honestly is so many other things that are included in a amazon prime membership that it would take forever to go through it all. I don’t make a lot of money and I have 3 small children so amazon prime is perfect for us. We get to take advantage of all the benefits being a prime membership includes (which you can try for free for 60 days if I am not mistaken with no hidden charges or catches if you do not want to pay for it. One of the best things about the video service is it offers NFL live stream, which will just increase in coverage as more and more people drop the traditional cable bill, as well as the fact you can add as a small additional charge ranging from $0.99 a month for PBS Kids shows (includes everything that is shown on PBS minus Sesame Street (which was sold to HBO and therefore they no longer have the rights to sell but still retain the rights to rebroadcast old episodes 9 months after they premiere on HBO), and the most expensive add on is HBO, but the add on is actually cheaper through amazon prime at $12.99 a month compared to $14.99 a month through the HBO app on the App Store and I would contend that the version on Amazon Prime is much more current that the HBO via the App Store. You can add on starz, showtime, Cinemax, National Geographic, The History Channel, Shudder, and my personal favorite is the NASA channel that gives you the most up to date on all things astronomy. You also can purchase tv seasons and movies which you cannot do on Netflix and add it to your collections. **************BOTTOM LINE******* It’s worth every penny to become a amazon prime member and the video service is included free of charge if you are which many people do not realize.

For the most part I thought this was pretty good. I got this included with my amazon prime membership. I sort of feel cheated. I pay upwards of 100 dollars a year for my membership, I was watching a pbs series on amazon prime, Poldark, I watched the first 2 seasons and when I was going to start the 3rd season I had to pay an additional 15 dollars to watch it. What kind of bait and switch deal is that? Also, not everything they show you is available to watch with your membership. I feel completely tricked and shame on amazon for doing this to valuable customers like me. People should know this going in so you don’t feel dumb, like I do at this minute. It’s too bad I didn’t read the reviews before I signed up. The reviews I’ve read so far have been bad so where’d they get the average 4.7 out of 5. Netflix is way better.

I use every streaming app you can think of. Amazon WAS my favorite choice. I’ve bought the hunger games series twice on amazon prime video. I had no problem with that because hello it’s an amazing series. I watch the 2 first movies of the series and think oh it’s ok I’ve bought the last two already at 6.99 it should be good... but no I have to buy it a THIRD time!!! I know it tells you that things might change for the movie via rental/buying... but come on i have to buy the movie 3-4 times that’s ridiculous. If I don’t own it to watch it more then once then I’ll just continue to rent it instead...
