Mile IQ - Mileage Log & Mile Tracker for Work & Business Review

The easiest and most accurate way to track miles. MileIQ users save an average of $6,900 per year!

MileIQ keeps track of miles for taxes or business purposes, or for any reason that requires a mileage log. This free app is the best mileage tracker for iPhone because it automatically logs drives and calculates mileage value.

Accurately Track Every Mile

Every time you drive your car, MileIQ can track your miles so that you can report them on your business log or taxes. Some MileIQ customers benefit from an increase in the total miles logged and they enjoy being able to write off more expenses. MileIQ is always on, meaning that you get peace of mind having a tracker that is accurate to the mile and working to protect your budget.

Tracking Business Miles

If you have to track business miles for work, consider that each mile you drive in your car is worth 53.5 cents in tax deductions or expense reimbursement. When you keep a manual mileage log, you have to remember to write your miles down and keep track of all of your paperwork. MileIQ is an easy mileage tracker that works for you without you having to do much of anything.

Think about the following:

• If you use your car for business and drive 1,000 miles, you can claim an annual mileage deduction of $535 (1,000 miles times the standard mileage rate of 53.5 cents).
• Drive 10,000 miles per year for business, in your own vehicle? Your standard mileage deduction is $5,350.

What does the average MileIQ customer log for mileage deductions? About $6,900. How much do you log? What if you could log more, just by downloading a simple miles tracker?

Does a great job keeping track of driving. The one thing I wish is sometimes I make a quick stop and I notice I have to wait at the location for a few minutes (about 3-5 min) for the app to recognize this was a stop. Wish there was a way I could manually tell the app I’ve stopped and arrived at my destination in an effort to count it as a trip immediately. instead I have to wait for the app to internally recognize a stop has been made to then log the trip. Not a big deal because I usually do email or return a phone call while I wait for the app to show the trip, but would be better if I could log it immediately instead of working around the app software. In the end it’s easier than a scratchpad or manual log!

I write off a lot of mileage for work and just recently learned that mileage deductions are the top category the IRS likes to audit. I also learned that this app is only useful in the event of an IRS audit if you: A- make a note on every entry stating The Who/what/when/where/why of the trip AND B- print the log once a week, not quarterly or yearly. Once a week. Don’t put a single one-time printout in your tax file! That combined with the fact that I forget to make sure it’s active and that it often misses drives or doesn’t show a starting or ending point that I recognize has convinced me to unsubscribe, delete, and go back to the old fashioned paper and pen mileage log.

Overall I really enjoy this app! Is very easy to use and it sure beats me recording everything myself! For $5 and change a month I’m happy with what I’ve received so far. However, the app is not perfect. I sometimes drive through rural areas with no service and some of my very long drives get missed. This is remedied by being able to manual enter the missed drives on my laptop. I would caution anyone who believes the app can record each and every one of your drives no matter your location. Understandably, this is not the case. My advice is to keep an eye out for missed drives from time to time and you shouldn’t have a problem. Excellent app!

This is very interesting app, but, i think, it takes too much battery for instant working. If you want to use it during driving, it is better to buy car charger for your phone. This is very interesting app, but, i think, it takes too much battery for instant working.
