I have appreciated the simplicity of this app for years now, but it's almost a little too simple. It lacks features that would make it must more efficient. Such as syncing between devices. I had the app on my phone and tablet, but I cannot access the notes from the other without emailing, copying and pasting them to the other device. The app also isn't secure enough for me. Though the password protection works well, the app isn't great at protecting my notes. I have used this app for years now, and this is the third time it has deleted a note that was important to me without my consent. I have been working on a book on it, which I was deep into, and upon reaching a stop in the plot, I decided to take a break and get on another app. Upon returning to iDo Notepad, the note was gone. I have spent many hours working on the book, and now all of it, aside from the first two chapters (which I had emailed from my phone) are gone. After spending half an hour trying to retrieve the lost information, I've still no way to retrieve it. I recommend a trash folder, so that notes that were unintentionally or unauthorized to be deleted can be retrieved. I also recommend to users that if you plan to type something that you find valuable, you use a different app, that syncs between devices and saves automatically, like a Google Docs, which is what I'm retyping my story on. Even with the save automatically feature on within iDo Notepad, I found the app to continually delete my most recent paragraphs from my nots if i hadn't pressed the save function. However, this app is a good option for making shopping lists or taking down notes for something you are learning. It is a step up from just typing into a generic notes app thanks to the font and size changes, but even those are very basic. There are many other bugs and inconveniences. The Help button now brings up nothing more than an empty, white window. The autosave, as I mentioned, doesn't live up to its name. The simplicity is taken almost too far. For example, the size and font must be consistent throughout the note. You cannot have a title larger than a word in a body paragraph. There are many categories for organizing your notes, but they are somewhat confusing, and the Help button doesn't explain them. These aren't even all the problems I've encountered though. I do not intend on giving this app anymore chances, because of all the pain and wasted time it has caused for me. As well as all the bugs that diminish the user-friendliness. Though the app has its redeeming qualities, I just don't think I can deal with its problems anymore. I no longer find it suitable for anything more than a quick list that is dispensable.

Haven't had iDo Notepad very long, don't know how well I like it yet. For the basics it's good. Unless I haven't found out how yet, There are somethings on my wish list. 1. I wish I could use fonts of different size in the same document. 2. Same for different fonts. 3. When sending the doc through email, the only font to show up are the basics,...aerial, tnr, etc. ( not even cut n paste preserves features) These were some of the features I'd hoped I was getting. The description said it could do all of these things which it can, but not at the same time. Oh, the ability of the word, "assume!" Maybe I'll find some of these as I use it more(only 2 weeks), but you asked. Maybe a better help file? Yes, I'll use...best I've found so far.

Would be perfect if it could create tables. Otherwise, it is the best. I use it for everything, from ideas, to journals, to reports, to inventory....just wish I could create tables. But for its simplicity and ease, it deserves five stars. I tried using Microsoft One Note but it was archaic, constantly slowing down to sync, and having errors all the time, even missing files after it synced! Tries to be fancy but doesn't deliver. Too bad.nindeleted the one note app and returned to using Ido. Yes, I do love it!
