BBC News is a great service that can help you stay informed about the most important events without overloading your news feed with meaningless stories that will be forgotten in a couple of days. The BBC Mobile app has been redesigned lately to deliver an even better user experience to BBC News readers.

What’s new about the updated BBC News app? First of all, now it offers a lot more possibilities to customize your news feed so that you only see the content you’re really interested in. If you only have a minute to flick through the news, take a quick look at the Top Stories section. Here you’ll see the latest stories and reports written by the best BBC journalists, whose credibility never comes in question.

Should you have some more time to familiarize yourself with the news, you should definitely use the My News feature, which was also introduced in the latest update of the free BBC News app. You can mark the topics that are most interesting for you, and the app will update your news feed with relevant content. What’s more, the app for BBC News is so smart that it tracks the news stories you read and works out some suggestions for you based on your personal preferences.

Some other notable features of the BBC News app are as following:

  • BBC Live Radio - 24/7 stream, can be played in the background;
  • Access to all BBC News audio and video files, as well as photos;
  • Offline mode;
  • Push notifications;

    The government says about 330 million people are now affected by drought and that number may rise as more states submit reports. It's a startling picture made worse by two years of poor rainfall and unusually hot weather.
