Lots of interesting material to explore in this app. I fairly quickly found myself always going down one tunnel - Topics / Brain Candy for a long list of particularly interesting stories. I used to scroll down to the end of the first 25 entries, select the Add More button, then do that again maybe a dozen or more times to get to the end then listen/read my way back up to the most recent entries. Any time picked an article to listen to, I'd lose my place and have to go through that process all over again. The upgrade seemed to eliminate losing my place. I can even leave the app and come back to where I left off. I finally discovered Bookmarks and began a process of flagging the stories of interest to me. On my first visit back to open the app, I am greeted with a blank, black screen. I tried everything to no avail. The only thing left was to delete mad reinstall, losing the list I'd spent the morning creating. I then left the app to check out the App Store Reviews for NPR Addict. Noting all the comments about crashing, I wet back to explore new areas. Tried out the Podcasts and found that no matter where I went, once I got to opening a level that contained a selection of Podcasts, the app would crash. I don't know if this was a problem before the upgrade. An iPad version would be grand, videos would be wonderful, but for now, I'd just like this app to work as intended.

The program menu lists each program AND segment seperately, and they each play individually then stop. It's like trying to listen to a music album but having to manually choose each song after the last one plays. Who has time to take their phone out every 3 minutes and choose the next segment to listen to? And the titles display only several words so most of the time you have to click through and read the entire description page to decide whether to listen to it or not. The difficulty of using this app makes it pointless to use on the go, which is the only reason anyone would use it in the first place. Until they figure this out, I stick to using the NPR's streaming feature on their website from my laptop at home.

In under a minute I had interesting content streaming via AirTunes, but I don't see a way to queue up a playlist, only set a bookmark, which seems like the wrong model for short form content of transitory interest. Without that feature this app is a lot less appealing. Also it would be good to be able to see all content sorted by date, or some favorite set of categories at a time, rather than having to select one specific category.
