V3.1.8: Apparently you're not listening, ALGO! The 'new' update indicators to the right of the topic names are STILL BROKEN! I agree with another user, I'm losing my patience with this app! When are the developers going to fix the 'new' indicator??? iPad 2, v9.3.4. V3.1.7: The 'new' update indicators to the right of the topic names are STILL BROKEN! The 'new' indicator still does not accurately inform you of new stories. How can a topic article be 'new', when the last look of that topic, just minutes ago shows the same results? When other topics show as 'new', how come they disappear/reappear randomly? Again, the 'new' update indicators are BROKEN!! --- VERY FRUSTRATING!!! ALGO - CAN'T YOU FIX THIS??? V3.1.6: Preset topic names seem to be viewed now, as v3.1.5 had a tendency to be unseen. The 'new' update indicators to the right of the topic names are STILL BROKEN! How can a topic article be 'new', when the last look of that topic, just minutes ago shows the same results? When other topics show as 'new', how come they disappear/reappear randomly? Again, the 'new' update indicators are BROKEN!! --- VERY FRUSTRATING!!! Although the app is less crash-prone, the updates before v3.1.5 were more asthetically pleasing and the tiles for the topics could be arranged in a certain order; not the forced alphabetical layout of the current version. I agree wth other reviewers; the tile format was so much better. I hate the fact that now the topic names (when visible), are sorted alphabetically! Bring back the old view?? ALGO -- PLEASE FIX THIS PIECE OF "S#$T"! iPad 2, v9.3.2.

This used to be a great app: I loved its information dense user interface where I could tell what was new an interesting at a glance, without scrolling, and I could organize information in the order in which I wanted to see it. No more. I used to bring it up many times a day to check what was new. I haven't gotten rid of it but now I bring it up maybe a couple of times a month to see if its developers have heeded customer calls to bring back its old info-dense user interface. A couple of years ago one or more user interface idiots got a hold of this app and decided to ruin it: now it takes lots of effort, many clicks and lots of scrolling to get what used to be available at a single quick glance. The new interface is a click/scroll nightmare. And cannot be tailored to my preference anymore either. Wonderful. Not. Interestingly, online newspapers have gone in the opposite direction: from this sort of poor, information sparse interface to an information dense grid format very much like what this used to be. Did you guys hire a failed online newspaper designer?

19 Aug 2017. "Algo has been acquired and some exciting updates are coming." Let's see what happens. 10 Aug 2017. The app is working... sort of. All the followed topics are incorrectly showing that they were "last updated seven months ago". Oddly, they are actually being updated, but aren't being flagged properly. Deleting and re-adding topics doesn't help: even newly added ones show "last updated seven months ago". 7 Aug 2017. Servers are up, but app doesn't update new article counts as it should. At least the company is alive. Let's see if they fix this soon. 5 Aug 2017. Algo servers have been down since the start of the month. There's no way of knowing if it's a technical problem, or if the company just went out of business. ... [earlier] Here we go again. It's a recurring pattern. This is a very useful application -- when it works. Right now, it doesn't. Perhaps it is being updated. Who knows? If this sort of system shutdown is going to continue to be a problem, then perhaps some sort of notification should be built into the app.
