Screen Recorder & Video Recorder – Xrecorder: Make Screen Videos Easily Review

Guidelines
All the authors that work on this project are required to follow our guidelines. To make the most out of the app testing process, our authors launch it on various smartphones and tablets with not only the latest OS', but also the previous ones.

Screen Recorder & Video Recorder – Xrecorder is an app for recording the screen of your Android device. It doesn’t require root access, doesn’t let your videos leak, and is easy to control while recording. Download Screen Recorder & Video Recorder – Xrecorder and save any videos of what goes on on your screen!

Functionality 5/5
Read More

Unlike many other apps, Xrecorder is not blocked by video apps that don’t let you save videos by their own means. Say, Instagram or TikTok with no built-in Save features may block screen recording, but Xrecorder goes past that, capturing literally anything. It has its own player, so you can watch the saved videos right in it. The editor isn’t here yet; the developers promise it in the nearest updates.

Design 5/5

The recording app should not be seen while it’s doing its job. So it is with Xrecorder: it only features a menu bulb that lets you pause, restart, or stop the recording. It also puts its control elements into the notification area, so you just need to drag down from the top to start, pause, stop recording, or watch the saved videos. The app runs in the background, unnoticeable most of the time.

Usability 5/5

There is a timer counting down until the record starts, so you have three seconds to run the app or the game you want to record. If it’s a piece of gameplay, you may play and not worry about a thing; Xrecorder won’t interfere. Just make sure you have enough storage on your card or in your phone, and select the destination folder properly.

The videos the app creates are in .MP4, and the resolution is the same as that of your screen, up to 1080p. It captures some fragments in the beginning and in the end, with control elements caught, but you can trim it in any third-party video editor. It depends on the way you hold your phone or tablet, whether the record is made in landscape or portrait mode.

You can immediately share your videos on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and other social media, or just keep it in your gallery. We’d recommend you process it with a third-party app before publishing.

Cross-Platform Use 3/5

The app is only available for Android. The app with a similar name and probably similar features could be found on App Store earlier, but now it’s removed. As for compatibility with various Android versions, it’s at least 5.0. If you’re still on 4.4 or an earlier version, you’ll have to search for another app to record your screen.

In-App Purchases

The app offers all of its features in a free version. But it shows ads right after the recording is over, plus in the home window. Removing ads will cost you %5.99. Not that they affect the resulting video any way; it’s rather a way to send your support to the developers and save some time for yourself.

The Bottom Line

Xrecorder is an app that does its job well. There are a few ads you’ll see, but they aren’t much annoyance. Buying a Pro version is optional, as the free one has no limitation and leaves no watermark.
