Chrome for Android To Cut Data Usage, Improve Speed
Chrome for Android has been on the forefront of such endeavours lately, having a data saving mode that's really convenient with slower speeds. The latest approach to speeding up your browsing is not a half-measure as it will not display pictures thus saving you about 70% of data often guzzled by images.
It's not the first app from Google to have received a data saving mode, as heavyweights like YouTube and Maps got offline modes earlier this year.
Using this feature in Chrome will be optional, and to activate one will have to enable "Data Saver Mode" in the three-dot menu.
Travellers who want to cut roaming expenses will surely appreciate this feature as well.
