Finally, There’s the Official Craigslist App
It’s 2019, and it’s the year that we get the official Craigslist app. It’s a sort of an epochal event if you know what it means. Now you can finally have the Craigslist app you can trust.
Why It’s Cool
Craigslist is the place where you can find anything in your town. In 1995, it was the closest analogue to private ad newspaper, becoming a constant garage sale, available 24/7. Now it still retains its default status. If you want to find a hob, to buy or sell stuff, or to advertise your business, Craigslist is the default option. The app detects your location automatically, but you can set it manually, as well as your preferred categories.
With this app, you can create and post ads, see the responses, search for those you’re after, bookmark and response to them. It supports private messaging and editing ads. The only thing that might confuse users is the necessity to link your account to that of Google or Apple, depending on what smart device you use.
A Bit of History
The modern Internet started its mass takeover in the early 1990s, and Craigslist was one of the most public-oriented sites. It’s the first online catalogue of classified ads that became so iconic that “craigslist” became a common name for catalogues of this sort. Even Microsoft Word recognizes this word as such. Well, Craig Newmark can now be championed as the Craig, no matter what Daniel Craig or Craig David may think.
Not that it was hard to use Craigslist on your mobiles without the app. Its official site is very lightweight. In addition, there has been a lot of third-party apps. But it’s so much better to have it officially because Craigslist is all about your money, time, and resources.
Would you prefer the official app to all its substitutes? Do you use Craigslist at all? Share your stories in the comments.
