Free Group Calls Available In Facebook Messenger
It seems that Skype and Hangouts are facing a powerful rival now. Facebook is constantly pumping up it Messenger - are you still wondering why they put it apart from the main app?
On April 20th, it was announced that Messenger can handle group calls. The feature is free as all the functionality of Messenger.
The update will consequently roll out all over the world. When the feature is available you will see a phone icon in the right upper corner in your group conversations. You just need to tap it to start the call. While communicating you can look at the group page and see who is online and who is off. It doesn't matter whether other users are online from the mobile app or from browser version.
This innovation makes Messenger a worthy alternative to other VoIP messengers with the group calling feature. Corporate IT managers may still think twice due to possible security issues, but private users will surely be delighted with this enhancement.
It seems logical that the next update will imply group video chats, but Facebook developers are quite unpredictable in their moves. This long-awaited group call feature is yet another evidence of this.
