Google Play Top Charts In April 2019: Best Apps
We worked out a list of 20 apps that made it to the top of Google Play store based on the dynamics of searches, clicks, downloads, and user ratings in April 2019. This month there’s been a few major position changes, but all the main titles are staying in their places. Several new names have also gotten into the top so if you want to learn them and find out what Android apps are top notch today, check out our statistics.
|11||Google Play services|
|14||Swiggy Food Order & Delivery|
|16||Personal stickers for WhatsApp|
|19||Xender: File Transfer, Sharing|
This month on Google Play we witnessed the outburst of entertainment apps: while YouTube mobile is keeping a number 1 position, other video apps are also getting up in the top. A hugely successful Indian startup, Hotstar has made the biggest breakthrough coming from position 18 to the top ten and beating MX Player, which previously has been viewed as everybody’s favorite movie player. The fascination with media also results in Google Photos and Instagram moving up in the top, three and five positions respectively. YouTube Go, a small and useful mobile app for offline video watching is keeping the position 17. Music seems less favorable than movies and videos with Google Play users: the only music streaming app that made it to the top, Spotify has moved one position down.
The top five is traditionally busy with messengers and browsers with WhatsApp being an absolute world favorite. Both Facebook apps and Messenger versions are also here in the top 10 without any significant position changes, while Telegram messenger has lost its popularity and moved three positions down. Maybe Russian and Iranian governments have finally managed to block it for good? Probably, Telegram users of those countries should be reminded of a Super VPN app that moves up in small steps gaining position 12 this month.
Despite its attractive offers, Indian delivery app Swiggy Food Order & Delivery has lost six positions, moving from no. 8 to no. 14. Probably, it's time for it to expand on other countries besides India. Security apps are represented with BlockSite, a solid app that is widely used this April by Game of Thrones and Avengers fans for avoiding spoilers. Google Play Services are as usable as ever, and we seriously doubt this app will leave Google Play top any time soon.
As for the new names, optimization is the key here. Personal stickers for WhatsApp made by a widely known communication apps developer Stukalov are now a substantial part of Android user experience. It’s a simple yet functional app that lets you create and organize your sticker packs in everyone’s favorite messenger. It started out with position 16, but we expect its popularity to grow even more. Another newcomer is Xender: File Transfer, Sharing that has made it to several Android file sharing apps tops this spring with the reviewers praising its speed and user-centered regular updates.
Adobe Acrobat Reader and Paytm are no longer in the top twenty. We’re pretty sure Adobe app will regain its popularity, but it’s hard to say the same about Paytm as its market share value has gone downward in 2019.
