Google Play Top Charts in December 2019: Best Apps
December is finally here, and we are all very excited to plan the holidays and make resolutions for the upcoming year and a new decade. Throughout these ten years, every aspect of our lives has been impacted by mobile apps. They have streamlined our daily activities, whether it was communication, ordering food, meeting new people, checking bank balances, helping multicolor birds save their eggs from enemies, or creating a grocery list. We have become so used to them, in fact, Google Play Store that launched in 2008 has grown to have millions of apps for almost anything.
As we stand on the cusp of a new year, we have a lot to be done in terms of planning and making new changes, and you will definitely need a bunch of impactful and important apps to help you do it. But before getting down to it, let’s take a look back at our Best Android Apps for December to help you install apps that’ll breath new life into your phone. Here are the top twenty apps worth checking out this month.

|13||Personal stickers for WhatsApp|

As we look at the charts, YouTube remains the longest-reigning social app with over a billion users showing no signs of slowing down. YouTube is joined by WhatsApp, Facebook Lite, and Google Chrome as the top four most downloaded apps in December. We see a close competition between Messenger Lite and Telegram where the latter politely switched places with the former to join the top five gang. These communication and social media apps seem like obvious consumer favorites as they are already an essential part of our lives. Even there are other apps notifying us how much time we spend on these top five apps. These highly addictive and currently, the trendiest apps have evolved over the years, and we think they will continue to do so as time moves forward. We will continue to update you on where the social networking space is headed.
Moving on from the list of the top five thriving beasts, let’s have a look at the fortunate ones in the remaining list of top ten apps. As Telegram rocketed to the fifth position, Messenger Lite will have to contend with the sixth place. This simple and decluttered app is our favorite as it is compatible with any Android device and really shines as a less distracting app that does not hog much space on our phones. Google Photos and Messenger grab the seventh and eight posts. It is also possible that BlockSite and Facebook that currently hold the ninth and tenth positions may claim top places on this leaderboard. Till now, we have a collection of pretty decent apps among top ten that have left a lasting impact on our lives, unlike viral hits like Prisma and Timely that rose in prevalence, then disappeared completely.
So far, things seem normal, but here comes the surprise! We have My Jio racing up the popularity to snatch the eleventh position from Swiggy. Although the telecom companies, including Jio, announced tariff hikes recently, Jio continued to be cheaper by offering plans across multiple price points with higher benefits, thus beating other telcos having the same magnitude of hikes. On the other hand, Swiggy could hardly grab the twentieth place on our charts. Swiggy users were in distress recently due to many closed or fake restaurants. With the ever increasing online food orders, people were disappointed when they ordered something from the food shop’s menu that resulted in a shocker as they were later informed it was not operational. People were left in anguish as to why their orders went through successfully if the restaurant is closed. This may be the biggest reason why the app lost its popularity as customers might have shifted towards other apps.
Well, continuing with other contenders, imo gained one spot to grab the twelfth place and knocked SHAREit towards the fourteenth position. Amid this shuffling, Personal stickers for WhatsApp got the chance to move one place up to the thirteenth place. We have a newbie: Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery that offers a fun augmented reality experience by turning your home into a horror survival shelter. Players will confront malfunctioning murdering animatronics delivered right to their houses in the augmented reality. The AR tech makes the game quite real and scary. It is just released this November, so we will wait whether our audience likes this immersive augmented reality FPS video game.
The new entry has also impacted the positions of Sticker Maker and Gmail that fell to the sixteenth and seventeenth places, respectively. We say goodbye to Xender and welcome Twitter at the eighteenth spot. With so many recent developments in world politics, it is the obvious choice of influencers, celebrities, leaders, and protestors to voice their messages to the world. While many accuse the platform as unsuccessful in clamping down the hate speech, it is still the best informative social network. Finally, Google Play services have not progressed an inch from their nineteenth position, and we are not sure whether it will move up the ladder anytime soon.
We hope that you will love this month’s edition that includes many apps from various categories. Now is the perfect time to download these to get the most out of your phones this New Year. Do let us know which of them you will get.
