Whether you own an Android top-of-the-line device or not, some apps deserve a spot on your screen. We are talking about the top five apps on our list that have been ruling our charts for some time now. YouTube is the king of apps as it keeps ranking number one. There is hardly any country where YouTube has never hit the top spot. We wonder whether WhatsApp Messenger and Facebook Lite on the second and third positions will ever climb to the top. Seems like people would never have enough of the top 5. Telegram and Google Chrome have just exchanged the slots, occupying the fourth and fifth places to join the winners.

These apps have quickly evolved from novelties to become an essential part of our daily lives. Compared with the December stats, the positions of these five apps remain almost unchanged, and we are yet to see any other rival loosening their hold.

As we move away from the leaders of our chart run, the ranking gets toppled. My Jio, which was already racing up the charts, ferociously took over the sixth spot from Messenger Lite. Our good old-fashioned chart battle is a bit different now as Messenger Lite has just been kicked out of the top ten. My Jio has surpassed our expectations this time. This all-in-one app has everything you need—data plans tracking and validity, recharging, live support, etc. Overall, it performs very well for your day to day use. We have yet to find if it has the stick-to-itiveness to get to the top five, but we wish My Jio godspeed.

My Jio has rung the alarm for Google Photos and Messenger staying on the same seventh and eight spots since last month. Twitter that just debuted among the bottom ranks has rushed up the ladder to share the eighth position with Messenger. Twitter stays among the well-established social media platforms. Regardless of the fact that it seems risky or decisive, it is a crucial part of life for people with critical thinking and communication skills such as journalists, politicians, lawyers, writers, activists, etc.

The craziest run has not stopped as SHAREit and imo have just hit BlockSite and Facebook, and snatched their ninth and tenth positions, respectively. SHAREit is a feature-rich file transfer app with a good speed. Users can share anything without using the Internet, but its cross-platform support feature makes it stand out from the crowd. It lets you transfer anything between tablets, desktops, Windows/Android/iOS smartphones.

With really big guns and a fast set of wheels, we welcome these carnage-fueled racers taking on the best on our traditionally quiet charts. Time to find out if the losing apps could grab the ship or would sink to the bottom of the ocean.

While Facebook just dropped from the tenth to the eleventh spot, Personal Stickers for WhatsApp runs to fill the gap from My Jio and imo to take the twelfth place. It lets you design and create your personal stickers with texts, emojis, etc., and send it from your phone. With these apps, WhatsApp has moved from being just a chat app and now supports various file formats. It has also attracted mobile users who love communicating visually; it is light, funny, and brings smiles to those who receive it. Stickers or emojis are increasingly becoming a universal language that anyone can understand.

Google Play Service, which initially seemed satisfied among the bottommost runners, is fully charged to move up to the thirteenth position. Last month we bid farewell to Xender, but it is back with a bang on the fourteenth spot.

The record for the biggest drop goes to Messenger Lite as it moves down from sixth to the fifteenth spot. Sticker Maker and Gmail joined the underdog list ranking seventeenth and twentieth. We welcome YouTube Music and YouTube Go at the sixteenth and nineteenth positions and say “not today” to BlockSite. Much was lost in the race last time for Swiggy, but we are surprised to see its progress from the bottommost rung of the ladder to the eighteenth rank.

As most of you would be taking stock of their app situation, we thought to help you by separating good apps from the bad. Ring in the New Year with these genuinely great apps featured on our charts. Be sure to leave us your valuable comment and revisit this page from time to time for more updates.
