Top of our chart has been frozen for a while now: Garena Free Fire is an absolute winner, as it seems to be the best mobile adaptation of battle royale genre game; and Subway Surfers has probably reached another peak of its popularity after the launch of the latest mode at the end of June. There has been a big Garena update on July 3, so get ready to meet your favorite survival shooter in our next top.
Starting from the position 3, however, things get interesting. It seems like summer is everyone’s puzzle-time: Unblock Ball, our May newcomer, has jumped three spots up and landed on position 3. Its minimalistic design is a feast for the eyes indeed, and with regular updates it proved to work flawlessly on Android. No wonder it beat PUBG which has been having a tough time recently: it was banned in China, India, and Jordan for being ‘harmful’ and ‘causing violent behavior’ among school students. Besides Unblock Ball, there’s a curious new puzzle Tasty Tale that made a record by entering our chart on position 5.
Block Puzzle Jewel is not in the top 5 anymore, but it is still a well-recognized and addictive game that has all the chances of getting back in. Ludo King is also gradually losing high places, probably for the reason of rare updates and overall gameplay predictability.
The good news is that June is the time for sport sims to be back in business: Ketchapp’s Dunk Shot is here again. A simple yet nice game like that is probably the most agreeable choice for those of us who want to remember what basketball is all about before going out on the court. Another Ketchapp game, Mr. Gun is back in the charts after saying goodbye to us last month. Hopefully, you don’t play it before going shooting with your real gun. 8Ball Pool which is one of the most thoroughly made simulators, went one place up too. Now it holds position 16.
Farm Heroes Saga is on position 9: the game seems to be the biggest Crash Saga success. Candy Crash Saga, the original Crash title and King’s beloved child is here with us again, and we predict it will go up as this July the anniversary 5000th level has been released. Or maybe it won’t, as there are lots of games to replace it: starting with extremely popular Sweet Fruit Candy (5 spots up!) and ending with 4(!) different versions of bubble shooters. There’s also an adorable fruit-related game Fruit Puzzle that is unlikely to stop climbing the charts.
Bird Crush Papa holds position 10 and unrolls our top bubble-shooter-flooded second half. All the Bubble Shooters (from Bubble Shooter, Happy Dragon Inc., and retooldirox) have lost a bit of popularity, but it’s still impossible to imagine Google Play charts without these basic games. Non-bubble games are not so lucky in June: Hill Climbing Racing probably will stay, but the chances for it to go up are not so high. Vegas Crime Simulator 2, although a decent shooter game, hasn’t seen new updates for a while, and fans are starting to get bored with it. Still, we believe those games will celebrate their success more than once in the charts to come.
Such popular shooter titles as Special Forces Group 2 and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang have surprisingly left the charts, but it seems too early to write them off. Another surprise is the absence of kid games: probably, during summer vacations parents took all the gadgets away from their toddlers to shoot some bubbles.
