Less than a year ago battle royale genre has made an ultimate breakthrough in the gaming world, mobile gaming included, so it’s not a surprise to see two brand new names of the genre holding first two positions. Garena Free Fire is probably the best mobile analog of a full-scale battle royal game, while Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds wins its audience with superb graphics and breathtaking effects. At the same time, the previous generation of battle games, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, a blockbuster of 2017 sits on the modest position 13 right now. Although the gameplay is still pretty gripping, its graphics simply cannot compete with the newcomers.
However, some people prefer not to mix their mobile activities with battle royale games. They choose good old arcades and actions like Subway Surfers and Sonic Dash classics, or funny and pleasing Hill Climbing Racing 2. Another great example here is neatly designed Mr. Gun from Ketchapp. Some users choose even more shooting in Vegas Crime Simulator 2.
Candy Crush madness also continues with Farm Heroes Saga and Candy Crush Soda Saga keeping stable positions in the middle of top games chart. Both of them, however, are outgalloped by a widely known Android classic Block Puzzle Jewel.
Dunk Shot, a splendidly made timekiller but a quite limited sports simulation game, is taking the sixth position. All other sport stimulators have only made it to a second half of the top 20. Brand new Dream Leagues Soccer sits on position 11, while more intellectual sports simulating games like 8 Ball Pool and Checkers stay closer to the end of the top. It’s natural that more active sports when transformed into a game give way to beautiful graphics and lots of fascinating gameplay turning-points. But it’s still nice to see less entertaining games that require focus to see so high in the top.
Asian market board games are gaining popularity very quickly: position no. 4 is taken by Ludo King, an old board game from India, while two Arabic word games from Zytoona have made it to the second ten of the list. Asian gamers are probably the most active and informed today, and it’s evident that the app makers from Middle East and India make frequent breakthroughs with simply designed yet addictive mobile games.
Shooters and checkers are here, but what about games for kids? Of course, there are developers that work on brilliant educational games for toddlers, and it’s impossible for them not to be in the charts. Games of this kind are bright and simple, they launch on devices of any generation, they contain very little ads, and they can speak the language of little kids no matter what part of the world they come from. This market segment is covered with Truck Games For Kids and Fruits Coloring Book & Drawing Book that conclude the list.
