Top 5 monthly apps stays almost completely frozen with YouTube as an absolute winner (it’s holding the first position for three months in a row) and a set of Google Play social apps we can’t imagine our smartphones without. While WhatsApp and Facebook are keeping their positions, Messenger and Messenger Lite swapped places. Lite versions that don’t consume much energy and are easy to use seem to be constantly growing on Android users all over the world. In the meantime, original Facebook and Messenger apps have moved one place down each.
Google Chrome has moved down a little bit, but now it makes up a small group with other Google products: Google Photos and Google Play Services that moved four places up. It’s nice to see Google keeping up with what the consumers of their main platform want. Apart from Google Play Services entering the top ten, everything in the first half of May Charts keeps pretty still. Position ten is occupied by BlockSite, a solid filter and anti-spam app that has proved to be effective where others failed. Last month, BlockSite has made a leap from the bottom of the charts, but it seems like it cannot compete with top 10 big players.
The second 10 brings some new titles to replace such unfortunate apps as Hotstar that has moved down from the place 12 and left the charts for good. Less movies and more productivity for Google Play clients: here we have an app on recharge and bill payment MyJio that entered our top on position 12, and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop soon. MyJio offers a set of useful functions such as store location, multiple voucher uploads, linking various accounts and making your financial routine a bit more tolerable. Mirmay Downloader & Private Browser is not a new app, but it seems like after a few years of existence it has finally got the recognition it deserves. It has some nice functions like downloading all types of media files and storing them in a secure folder with an option of replaying them offline with the help of a built-in player. SHAREit Transfer and client that has started on the place 20 seems to be every Android user new preference when it comes to exchanging files of all types and sizes across various platforms. Not sure if it stays in our charts for long, as there’s no trace of Xender, last month favorite sharing app.
Another newcomer that has all chances to get to June top 10 is YouTube Music, a new streaming service from everybody’s favorite video manager. It has landed on position 14, dangerously close to Spotify (12). With its user-friendly interface and flawless support, YouTube Music is gaining adherents pretty quickly. Probably, you’re the next one! YouTube app used for offline video streaming, YouTube Go, has moved two positions down, but it still doesn’t seem like any of YouTube services are on the way out of this top.
However, there are some apps that seem to be on their way out: Swiggy Food Order & Delivery, an app that keeps its users waiting for expansion on other countries besides India, is slowly moving down. So does Instagram, once everyone’s absolute favorite, and now just another app making small steps to the bottom of the charts. But summer can change it all. Let’s wait and see!
