YouTube and WhatsApp Messenger have been residing on the top positions on our charts for a long time now. Facebook Lite and Google Chrome also jumped two places to join the top sticky apps. Last time we witnessed Telegram gain traction, and grab a spot among the absolute three. Well, this time, it slipped two places but still is included among the favorite five. It seems difficult for other apps to break through to the top as long as the leaders are successfully running the show. These platforms are user-friendly and free but also accessible to everyone; these attributes make them so popular, and people love using them frequently.
Messenger Lite and Messenger move one spot each to take the sixth and seventh positions. Messenger Lite is a stripped-down version of Messenger released by Facebook for those who don’t need a powerful but heavy Messenger app. The lite version sports only basic features, unlike Messenger that offers extra features like stories, games, and secret conversations. It also utilizes more phone storage, multiplies in size, and gets sluggish sometimes. On the other hand, the Lite app takes little space, ditches extra functionalities with a simple User Interface. But it does not support animations, location sharing, and end-to-end encryption features. In fact, there is no clear winner, but Facebook is able to successfully target a wider audience with both versions.
We bid adieu to previous new entrants—YouTube Go, YouTube Kids, Rappi, and Mercado Pago are leaving the charts as everything can’t stay the way it is. No winter lasts forever, no spring skips its turn, and maybe we could see them again on our charts in the future.
Continuing with the list, BlockSite and Google Photos also moved one place each to grab the eighth and ninth spots. Till now, we have witnessed tough competition, and the only way to get into the top ten list is to simply kick out other opponents. Facebook followed the same strategy and ousted YouTube for Android TV to secure the tenth place. Its position has improved on our charts—last month, it could hardly clinch its spot and slipped to thirteenth place, but this month it successfully broke into the top ten gang. imo also followed to grasp the eleventh spot. Interestingly, Swiggy has gained continuous attention as it moved six places up to take the twelfth spot. Swiggy is a leading food delivery company with its own independent fleet of riders that consistently delivers great quality, customer service and improved delivery time. We believe Swiggy is on track to gain market leadership with a great value proposition for consumers and restaurants.
Personal Stickers for WhatsApp and Gmail moved one place each to join imo and Swiggy at the thirteenth and fourteenth positions. It's great to have the two incredibly popular WiFi file sharing apps back on the charts that are well-tuned for the modern users—SHAREit and Xender. These apps let you share files of any format free and quickly, but we have to wait for the next month to see if they can sustain the current spots or snatch a better position on the charts. With Google Play Services invariably acquiring a place on our list, we welcome Sticker maker and MyJio at the seventeenth and nineteenth spots. MyJio has been updated with Jio Cloud, making it easier for the users to back up their media content and documents easily. With different recharge plans, it successfully lures the audience to expand its user base.
YouTube for Android TV debuting at the eleventh position last month could hardly make it to the charts this time. With the twentieth spot, we are not sure if it can retain a place next time.
We hope that you will find the list of top 20 Google Play apps very helpful. There are countless apps out there with the same functionalities, but we only want you to have the best ones. We will be back with another well-curated list next month.
