How to Transfer Contacts From Android to iPhone on Freepps Top Blog

So, you decided to switch from your good old Android to iPhone. Or maybe you keep using both, but you need to sync the contacts right now. Good news for you: these two platforms are not incompatible.

Here is the way to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone in the blink of an eye.

Transfer with Google

If you’re not too security-concerned to keep the copy of your contact book on Google’s cloud, it’s half done. All you need to do is:

  1. Take your iPhone and go to Settings;
  2. Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars section;
  3. Select Google;
  4. Enter your login and password;
  5. Wait until your contacts get synced.

If you use multiple Google accounts, you need to repeat these steps for each of them. It’s all you need to do if you only want to sync your contacts once. To keep them synced constantly, you’ll need to turn Contacts sync on in the iCloud section.

If you can’t wait until you reach stable Wi-Fi connection, then enable syncing via cellular networks. Go to Settings, find the Cellular section and scroll down to Contacts line. Slide the switch beside it to turn it on.

If you don’t have your iPhone yet

Let’s imagine you have already ordered your iPhone and now you’re waiting for its delivery. Why waste time? You can sync your contacts via web interfaces.

That’s how to transfer contact list from Android to iPhone even if you have none of these devices in the flesh:

  1. Go to and authorize with the account you’d like to sync to your iPhone;
  2. Enter the menu and select More;
  3. Select Export in the dropout menu;
  4. Confirm switching to the old version when asked;
  5. Select the contacts you’d like to sync and press More above the list;
  6. Select Export and choose the “All” or “Selected” option;
  7. Then select vCard export format for the file which will be saved to your computer.

When Google part is over, it’s time to import the contacts to iCloud.

  1. Go to and login;
  2. Open Contacts section and then Settings in the left lower corner;
  3. Select “vCard Import”;
  4. Import the file you have saved from Google Contacts;
  5. If you want your contacts to be constantly synced, activate Contacts sync in the iCloud section on your iPhone when you have it.

Transfer via third-party services

There are numerous messengers like WhatsApp, or Facebook Messenger with contacts synchronization. If you have any of these messengers on your Android, you can install one on iPhone as well and activate it with the same phone number you use on Android device. Then you’ll be able to sync your contacts list both ways.

There are also third-party apps for creating backups like we did via the web interface. You can use these apps to store your phone numbers, emails, photos, notes and so on.

The algorithm is:

  1. Export your Android contacts into the vCard;
  2. Export your Android contacts into the vCard;
  3. Upload it to your Google Disk, Dropbox or OneDrive;
  4. Access it from iPhone and import.
  5. Now you can switch from your Android device to iPhone with no fear of losing important data.
