More Comment Control For Instagram Users on Freepps Top Blog

If you’re a regular user of Instagram or any social media platform for that matter, you know that trolling and online bullying is something that happens on a regular basis. When it comes to Instagram, users had an opportunity to delete comments on their photos for a while, but sometimes the messages can be there a really long time before they get noticed. It is especially relevant if users have a lot of followers.

What has been done to improve comment control?

Instagram photo and comments

According to Instagram, their goal has always been to create a fun and safe place for people to express themselves and communicate with others. For this reason, Instagram made a decision to introduce a set of tools to the application to help people manage the comments that appear on their posts. The company plans on introducing the filters, which users can enable in the app to avoid certain phrases and words from being typed in the comments. Another useful feature is completely turning off the comments on the specific posts that you want. This is something that a lot of YouTube content creators already use, especially when discussing personal or sensitive topics that can provoke unnecessary debates in the comments.

According to the company, these features are currently being tested by the Instagram users who have large followings, thus giving them an opportunity to shape the tone of discussions in the comment section. It is still unclear when the new comment opportunities will be available to all users, but it’s safe to say that it won’t take too long as the information has already been made public. There is no doubt that there is still a lot of work to be done in the area of keeping social media services free from abusive or offensive materials, but the company definitely takes a step in the right direction.

What are your thoughts regarding the new comment options? Do you believe they will help avoid or minimize trolling? Feel free to share your opinion with us in the comments.
