Hail An Uber, Pay Upfront Now
For a lot of users, Uber has become a prominent part of their daily routine thanks to its convenience and ease of use. Recently Uber has announced that the app users living in certain parts of the United States and India will be able to pay upfront for the rides rather than upon arriving at their destination. This new feature is a definite improvement of the application as it will help avoid the unpleasant surprise of realizing that your ride turned more expensive than you expected upon arrival.
What other changes will we see in the app?
Another change that the company has decided to introduce to the app is the way the users are able to see “surge” pricing. While the prices will still be higher during high traffic hours, the users won’t have to calculate the cost of their rides as they will know exactly the sum they will have to pay thanks to the upfront payment model.
At the moment, the enhanced payment model will only be available for the users living in San Diego, New York City, Philadelphia, Miami, New Jersey, Seattle, New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad. However, within the next few months, the developers of Uber plan on introducing these changes in other cities.
Are you an active user of Uber? If so, what is your opinion on the new payment model? We will be happy to hear from you.
