Periscope Streaming Is Now Integrated Into Twitter Feed
Sometimes, the app developers’ tactics are too inscrutable for an average user. Indeed, only several weeks ago we were surprised by the separating of “Moments” and “Google Photos” features from their well-known and popular “parent” applications. Such promotional moves have tended to be rather successful. However, we may observe the opposite tendency from time to time. This is exactly what happens to Periscope and Twitter applications now.
Since that time - in fact, in a couple of days, all the iOS users of the Twitter application will be able to watch live streaming videos right in their news feeds. Before that, they could only tweet the links to the standalone Periscope app’s content. The developers from both teams have mentioned that the web and Android platforms will get the feature, too. When? As usual, the answer is “as soon as”.
First of all, this deep integration may help “save” Twitter from being surpassed by other social networks. Both apps mirror the event happening in the world right now. They say Periscope has crossed over a 100-million number of live broadcasts since the time of its launching in March, meaning over 10 months only.
So, the live videos will run automatically when you scroll to them. Of course, in case you don’t like this, you can disable the autorun within the app (but, why would you, actually?). The further tapping on a video opens it in the full-screen mode and allows to view the comments and hearts from Periscope users. What’s more, simple video watching may be fulfilled even without Periscope installed on the iPhone and without an appropriate account created beforehand.
Isn’t it great to see the world through someone else’s eyes while drinking your morning coffee with a smartphone in your hands?
To tell the truth, we do suggest it’s a cool thing - just to scroll the feed and have a look at someone’s breakfast routine, a fantastic music show attending, or even diving with sharks. Isn’t it great to see the world through someone else’s eyes while drinking your morning coffee with a smartphone in your hands? Besides, no more clicks and other app’s links following! No more invites and advertising of your Periscope account! This also means that Periscope has got a potential to become an even more effective marketing tool.
