I've always enjoyed automobile combat games, but never found any decent ones for mobile that I could enjoy. I finally came across this game earlier today & I'm thrilled to say it's absolutely worth checking out. One of the aspects of car combat that I find incredibly appealing is the chance to customize your vehicles with a wide variety of choices. This game has a surprisingly decent mixture of variety in the different weapon and armor choices and some depth with the upgrade system, which not only effects the weapons or gadgets but also other car stats. The stats could use a little more explanation, I'm not positive on what all of them mean still but figured most of them out when I was able to identify them the little key they provide. The game "economy" seems super well balanced - so far I've been able to upgrade my car and buy new weapons without it feeling too easy/too difficult to afford them. I can't go crazy and get everything, but I can try out different things and upgrade the ones I like. Hopefully money doesn't get scarce as the game progresses. Also, I haven't noticed too many ads for in-game items or in general and that's a fresh breath of air. These days it seems like most free games are half-ad, half-game. Thankfully, this is a game that knows its a game and keeps you immersed in it most of the time. I only recall two ads as of writing this: one for an in-game "starter pack" of items and currency, and the one asking me to rate the app. Not normally a review guy, but this game has got me hooked the past few hours and seems pretty solid. I was skeptical about the controls initially, but after getting used to them I actually really enjoy the sort of "turn-based" pauses that let you shift direction and change weapons precisely. PVP seems pretty cool too, but I need to check it out after I level up a bit. My car was too green to compete when I first tried it. Definitely try the game out if your curious, I think it may be my new favorite for now.

A five star plus rating -- updated review. Playing now for several months -- I really enjoy this game. Just a few hours with the update, and it looks great! HUGE kudos as far as support. I encountered a bug and emailed gunjin. Holy mackerel, they replied within an hour and resolved the problem in less than twelve. This happened again recently with a seriously minor glitch, and again gunjin took care of it in less than a day. Great game. Great support. Most definitely give it a shot. The game is definitely well worth trying out and exploring in depth. One of early reviewers said it well: If you liked (Steve Jackson's) Car Wars, this is a trip down memory lane and a good one. If you are not familiar with that game, it's still fun and well worth you kicking a movie ticket's worth of dough to the developers to explore it more fully. As far as some of the low reviews because of crashing, all I can say is that I have not had any problems. As far as the low reviews because of IAPs, I have to say that the majority of developers are not working for "megacorp studios", thus need to make a living, and thus are not responsible for providing free entertainment. Maybe I am wrong about gunjin (their website says they are a small outfit) but I don't see a lot of apps from them in the App Store. Guessing they are people who need to pay bills and put food on the table . . . maybe even enjoy a night out with the fellas. I paid $10 for an IAP and have been enjoying the game for 5 plus hours. The math: $10/5 hours = $2 per/hour. Mercy, I feel like I was robbed. Yep, that was sarcasm. (I have now played many many many many more hours and still not hit a paywall.) Take care.

This game is a lot better than I expected it to be. I was almost put off by the very freemium looking UI (multiple currencies, timers, chests, oh my!), but I've sunk a couple hours into it so far and I've never been forced to pay or stop playing. I could spend real money to progress faster, but I'm leveling up and unlocking new parts at a pretty good pace without IAPs. It takes a little getting used to, but the combat system is an interesting blend of real time and turn based where you enter your actions for the next 2 seconds and then watch them being carried out in real time. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy vehicular combat games... And who DOESN'T enjoy strapping a rocket launcher to the top of a muscle car and blowing enemies off the road?
