Visually, the game looks great – it is clear that the developers paid special attention to the graphics. While the movements of people are too slow sometimes, the monster looks really scary. Particularly frightening are their attacks and unexpected appearance.

Gameplay 4.5/5

In Alien: Blackout, you control Amanda Ripley, the daughter of the heroine of the cult film. From the introductory video, you learn that Amanda was locked in a space station with a monster that freely walks through the corridors. Ordinary repairmen arrive on the station to deal with the monster. Amanda should help them complete their tasks and fly away from this eerie place on their ship.

The game consists of seven levels. Every time you have to lead the men through the corridors, closing and opening the doors as well as plotting the best routes. At the same time, there is a danger behind the scenes – the Alien wandering around the station.

Controls 3/5

The Alien: Blackout interface is an actual station control system. Most of the action on the screen you will see from a particular surveillance camera. At the bottom of the screen is a mini-map, which shows the location of cameras and people. On the right is a list of tracking devices, switching between them will change the picture itself. On the left side is the uncomplicated management interface of employees in the form of sensors of their heartbeat.

Replay Value 4/5

This game has a high lasting appeal. According to the Alien: Blackout review, one of the best features is a scrupulous stylization of the original film. It is expressed in the graphics effects, the elements of design, and sounds. Narrow corridors, approaching darkness, and terrible rustles build up the tension, especially if you play in headphones.

The Bottom Line

Alien: Blackout is an exciting horror game, the events of which take place on the space station. You can spend some time understanding the controls and, you will have to pay the price with the death of characters and scary scenes. But then you will plunge into an exciting confrontation with the Alien. Downloading Alien: Blackout is well worth $4.99.

Pros : The game looks and feels like a true heir to Alien: Isolation in particular, and the entire Alien series as a whole;
Nice graphics;
Exciting gameplay that won’t make you bored.

Cons : The character of heroes is limited by their names and titles;
Almost all icons and buttons you see are too small, which makes it difficult to click on them.
