Checkers: All Kinds of Checkers in Your Phone Review
Checkers is an indie digital implementation of the famous classic board game. The developer with nickname Alex F. made this game to show how the true mobile checkers must be like, so he included 10 most popular versions of this game into a single application. Download Checkers for any of your Android devices to master your skills on the go and challenge your friends online.
Checkers latest version looks pretty bright, vibrant, and smooth. You are free to choose from 6 different color schemes of the board as well as to change colors of checkers. You can set white, black, dark, light, golden, and art schemes. There are also different wooden tables for you to choose as a background. You can also switch between 2 camera modes: the view from above and the 3D mode. Unfortunately, the checkers look rather flat due do the low-definition of models. It’s not crucial anyway.
Checkers game has a lot of different versions in countries all over the world. Alex F. picked the most popular types of checkers, such as British, Russian, Brasilian, Italian, Spanish, Czech, Turkish, Thai, International, and American Pool. All of them look absolutely the same but have slight differences in rules. It’s not a problem if you have never played checkers before because there is a built-in helper that can teach you how to play all types of this brainstorming game.
It’s impossible to tell about all particular features of each version in this Checkers review, so let’s take a look at general rules. There are always two players on both sides of the board. One player has to play for light checkers and the second gets the dark pieces accordingly.
Each one has to move their pieces diagonally to take free cells. There’s no way to move them backward except those cases when you have to kill opponent’s piece. It becomes vulnerable if there is an opponent’s piece in front of it and an empty cell behind. Basic rules prohibit players from missing killings under no circumstances. There are two ways to win. You can either take away all pieces of your opponent or block them to make any moves impossible.
Checkers board game controls are very uncomplicated. You have to tap a piece, hold it, and drag to the right direction to make a move. Checkers are big enough even for players who have big fingertips.
Replay Value 5/5
Checkers full game includes 10 modes with different rules and 10 levels of difficulty. You can play solo or choose to play one of 2 multiplayer modes. One is for online matches and the second is for local sets on a single device.
The Bottom Line
Checkers mobile game is a perfect brainstorming time killer that can match the taste of any smartphone owner. It includes all popular checkers modes for single-player and multiplayer matches. There is no limit to perfection in this game. Do your best to defeat opponents in the minimal number of moves.Collapse
Download Checkers by Alex F. to get a great educational board game. It’s easier than chess, but still a great trainer for brains.
