Avakin Life - 3D virtual world Review
Imitation of real life has always been among the most obvious applications of the virtual environment. Of course, the practical value of these imitations is close to zero or even below, because of lack of need in the recreation of 3D reality. But it’s so spectacular and good-looking that virtual imitation has become a lead tune of numerous novels and movies.
But what’s no good for work can make an excellent game. Avakin Life is one of those games allowing you to recreate your perfect life in the virtual environment. Is it just having fun? Nope, it’s a kind of practical dreaming, psychotherapy, and communication at the same time. The name is an obvious contamination of “avatar” and “kin”: that’s all you need to know about it.
You may be recollecting Sims now; yes, it’s the same kind of simulation games, with one difference that matters: you’re not the God of Sim people, but one of them.
In fact, it’s the essence of the game: the new look of your world. It may seem a bit schematic, especially on 2K screens. In spite of that, the game looks very realistic. As you put more efforts into your character, he/she starts looking alive.
The environment is schematic as well, but the more items you buy for your apartment, the more inhabited it grows and the more life you see.
In fact, this graphic level is quite enough to feel not like in real life, of course, but like in a well-made cartoon. It’s enough to make an impression, and it’s up to you to let it in.
It all starts with the registration unless you’re already in. The motto of Avakin is “Your world, your choices.” First choices you have to make, appear before you create your character. Decide whether it should resemble your real appearance or the appearance you’d like to have. Maybe you’d like to live the life of your perfect match, the boy/girl of your dreams? Or rather create an improved version of the real you? The choice is yours.
Avatar creation offers numerous options. You can select virtually any trace of your image. Skin color? Mustache? Haircut? Mouth and eyebrows shape? Clothes, glasses, hats? Maybe underwear? There’s all of that and much more.
After creating your new look, you can go to Avakin Life. Select your nickname, connect your account to Google or Facebook. Then you get your initial coins and diamonds along with your apartment and furniture pieces.
From the very beginning, you can enter parties and make friends. Well, there’s a wide selection of actions you can take at the party! Wave or nod friendly, move in, show your emotions with laughter, applause or even facepalm gesture. No one can guarantee virtual friends will like you, but it’s up to you to make them. There is a text chat you can use to talk to anyone you like.
Virtual shopping can be just as exciting as in real life. You can select different clothes, footwear, accessories and much more! Your character can learn new actions: dance motions, poses, gestures. Emotions you learn allow you to express multiple states: from joy and defiance to disappointment, aching stomach or a headache.
Another important place is your apartment. Fill it with furniture, hi-tech stuff, and even pro equipment. Create a library, lounge zone, recording studio, a photo lab, or anything you would like to.
Go to beaches and party zones. Make connections. Show off with your items and moves. It all helps you level up.
Though the developers keep Avakin Life free, learning and shopping will cost you some game coins. Initial resources are limited, so you have to learn how to earn. You can buy Avacoins for real money, or get rewarded for watching video ads or joining other games.
Another part of the game is building machine. You can build some items with its help; you need to select them in the store and wait. The problem is, sometimes it wouldn’t work due to server issues.
Social media is deeply integrated. Each time you perform an action like buying new clothes, reaching a new level, making new contacts and so on, you can share it on Facebook. And yes, you get your reward for supporting the game publicly. You can invite your Facebook or Google+ friends or check who’s already in.
There is always a tutor bot who tells you how to make connections, decorate your room, do the shopping, etc.
Last but not least: Avakin by Lockwood Publishing offers more than this. You can play Avakin Poker, modify your look with Starstyle and 3D Avatar Creator, and if you want some real surrounding feeling, you can install a special VR version. And the basic Avakin app often gets updated, with new features, new special items or features.
While creating your appearance causes no confusion because you just select available elements from the cells to apply them to your character, movements and actions are a bit more complicated. You have to select the desired movement from the list in the left part of the screen. It takes some time, but hey, it’s not an action game.
In general, the interface seems quite logical, and even if you’ve never played anything like that, you’ll make it out easily as soon as you install Avakin Life.
Replay Value 5/5
RPGs, in fact, are not meant for replaying from the start; you don’t have to quit them at all, and if for some reason you do, you can restore your account and resume your advancing. The developers always add new features, so, say, a year later the game won’t be the same.
As you can download Avakin Life for iOS or Android, you can have your another life in your pocket. Players from all over the world can be your neighbors. Create your model you never dared to have in your real life and then apply it to your physical self. But even if you don’t, Avakin Life is a party that’s always with you.Collapse
Avakin Life is a good simulation of dolce vita, great at finding some tricks and inspiration for your real life.
