Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes: A Long Time Ago Review
Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes is a strategy game for Android and iOS. You get to play a strategic holographic game in one of the galaxy’s taverns. As you command Jedi, Sith, Stormtroopers and droids, your objective is to outsmart your opponent. Download Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes and lead your troops to victory!
Graphics — 4.5/5
Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes free game is designed as Dejarik. It’s the same game, which Chewbakka and R2 play in A New Hope movie. In other words, your troopers aren’t real — they are simply holograms.
However, their attacks are pretty spectacular to observe, especially if it’s a Jedi wielding a lightsaber or a clone soldier handling a heavy blaster-repeater. Physics and sound effects that accompany battles are quite satisfying too, even though warrior models look a bit crude.
As a delicious bonus, the game has the canonical Star Wars soundtrack composed by John Williams. It includes the timeless The Binary Sunset, The Force Suite and Imperial March themes. Recognizable blaster and lightsaber sound effects are also on the menu.
Gameplay — 3.5/5
Our Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes review sees the game as a strategy. And the most important move you can make here is to assemble the right crew. You start out with a humble team of a hero + a few weak troopers. But as you progress, more advanced soldier classes and weapons will be accessible.
Units have such characteristics as:
- Health Steal;
- Critical Chance, etc.
By analyzing which soldier and hero types best cooperate, you must build your assault group. But it’s not free. To recruit new powerful units, you must either do a lot of grinding or invest real cash.
The key to winning in SWGOH is unlocking and farming heroes and units. As many as you can. If you dislike a pay-to-win strategy, the only way to expand your army is through participating in battles and events. Cantina Battles, Squad Arena and Galactic Wars will help you.
Controls — 5/5
The game is fairly easy to control. You simply tap a unit you want to use and then an enemy you desire to attack. The Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes gameplay is turn-based. But PVP battles set a time limit, so you need to be quick with your decisions.
Replay Value — 4/5
If you want to succeed in Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes game online, you will have to grind a lot. It’s the only way to build up a respectable army without paying actual dollars. That means, you will spend a lot of time at Cantina, battling one enemy after another. Until a cool unit like Captain Phasma is finally yours.
The Bottom Line
SWGOH is a great game if you’re a Star Wars fan. It has everything: music, cantina atmosphere, Dark and Light side warriors and the adventurous feel of the SW universe. If you’re a patient fan of MMO and strategy games, you will love this Dejarik substitute too.Collapse
