BitLife: Devise a Model Citizen with This Exciting Text-Based Life Simulation Review

Guidelines
All the authors that work on this project are required to follow our guidelines. To make the most out of the game testing process, our authors launch it on various smartphones and tablets with not only the latest OS', but also the previous ones.

Making smart life choices is hard, and we often wish we could go back in time and do something differently. BitLife presents a unique opportunity to navigate a random character through life and help them make a series of life-altering virtual decisions. Download BitLife from Google Play and do what you have never dared to do in your real life.

The graphics are the weak point of this game. There are no images or animated characters here. You read the text on the screen, make up your mind, tap on the option of your choice, and proceed to the next icon. Such text-only relationships with the game are the reason why the occasional interactive ads that you see when you go to the movies do not drive you crazy.

Gameplay — 5/5

BitLife starts with you being born to a random family, and the game automatically determines your sex, race, and name. These are the only aspects in your virtual life that you cannot control; all the other decisions are made by you. In BitLife, you can choose anything from your sexual orientation to whether you want to commit a crime. As you grow older in virtual life, you will need to make harder decisions, and there will be more options to pick from. Throughout the game, there are four indicators to monitor: happiness, smarts, health, and looks. Every single decision that you make affects one of these parameters, so make sure you always choose well to keep your character happy, healthy, safe, and satisfied with their life. To make things more exciting, there are a few additional features like the achievement system, heirlooms, mini-games, and holiday specials.

Controls — 5/5

Since this is a text-based mobile game, your interaction with it is limited to tapping on the icons whenever you need to choose the activity you want your character to do next and then reading the popup texts informing you of the consequences of a particular decision.

Replay Value — 5/5

The replayability of BitLife is very high. It hooks you up from the start and does not let go until you have tried everything there is to try. In real life, we can never know for sure what could have happened if we had made different life choices, but here, in BitLife, we are allowed to keep trying until we have made everything just perfect.

The Bottom Line

The game is a great and highly relatable virtual life simulation, which gives its players lots of options to choose from and constantly challenges them to make hard decisions. It teaches us to take responsibility for our actions and face the consequences. Download BitLife to see if you are a fine citizen or a lowlife.

Great, I loved it. Though it could do with a touch-up, all I'm saying is that it is slightly glitchy but other than that I loved it. I'll strongly rate this 4 stars.
