NBA Live Mobile Review
Electronic Arts is the king of sport simulators. Soccer fans have been appreciating the official FIFA game, and if you’re hooked on basketball, you may enjoy the NBA official. These games are large enough to let you try at least two skins; you can be both a field player and a team manager.
The official status means that the game can officially recreate the official League logos and names, and even clubs and players’ names. Yes, the developers have digitalized real NBA stars. So you can have them either in your own team or as your rivals.
NBA live games by EA have been out since 1994; in 2013 they went mobile. The series with a long story of success is updated each year, 2016 makes no exception. NBA Live download is available for Android and iOS devices.
Sports simulators have always been not so easy to embody. The designers have to recreate the game field, the players’ movements and interaction and their appearance close to their prototypes. The most exciting thing is players looking and moving like their real prototypes both on profile cards and out in the field.
The atmosphere is recreated in 3D, with audience reacting to each successful move or extreme situation. The players look rather schematic when in the field, but their profiles and highlights with names and team uniform do the job, so they’re quite recognizable. Yes, it takes a lot of space, so prepare some gigabytes for your NBA live mobile download.
The basketball music should be funky, that’s what the developers know well. The soundtrack rocks, it consists of phat hip hop beats. Unfortunately, the company didn’t master the art of soundtrack up to GTA level, though it would be a great musical experience.
The game is available in most popular languages; though basketball terminology is international and English text would be easy to understand for most fans, EA has still bothered about gamers’ comfort.
Gameplay 10/10 (if you’re a real basketball freak)
Others may rate this game much lower, as it requires being quite aware about basketball rules and NBA games.
There’s a quick tutorial you can go through before real gaming. You learn how to run the field, where and how to shoot, how to pass the ball, to drive, to guard, how to keep the defense and to make an attack.
The field is split into the zones you have to mind while playing. There are zones your players has to be in to make a successful throw. Shoot when you’re in a SHOOT area, run to get in there, make fake shots to deceive your opponents.
Your successful games give you coins you can spend on purchasing new packs, signing up players and upgrading. The special abilities will bring your team rank up. Unlock them by winning games… or by donations if you want to skip the long upgrading.
The game follows the real NBA games. Your rival (as well as your team) has the real players with their names, their qualities and even their gaming manners recreated close to the original. If you wish, you can pay almost no attention to game, setting its mode to Automatic. This mode suggests you’re a team manager rather than a player or a trainer. You select your players, make transfers, accept daily challenges and do your tasks to get rewarded. By the way, these challenges are the reason to keep your NBA Live Mobile online. The game just won’t run without proper connection.
A managing part takes even more than being aware about the current NBA events. You can make your G.O.A.T. team with the greatest ballers of both today and past years.
The Head-to-Head mode takes all the advantage of always-online gaming, as the competition becomes real. It requires Facebook login, so you can compete with your friends.
As you play a sport simulator, you have to watch the game events closely. You’re not bound to a definite single player; the one closest to the ball is the one you control at the moment. All the other players, from both your team and the opponent team, are controlled by AI.
There's no need for external control devices like gamepads or joysticks. All the movements are done with simple virtual controls. Though using external devices (like Bluetooth gamepads) can also be helpful, the game doesn’t require anything but your mobile.
Replay Value 10/10
This game looks quite like a real sports tournament, when two teams may meet many times with results unpredictable. The sport replayability is absolute. So it is with this elaborate simulator.
The deeper you dive into this basketball world, the more combinations you can try and the more inexhaustible the game becomes.
The developers always add daily challenges connected with real NBA timetable, so just keep up with them to always have a new mission. And remember; you won’t just have enough time to get tired of this game, as next year EA will certainly offer a new free NBA Live Mobile.
The Bottom Line
A great game for basketball fans. The gamers not so fond of real basketball may also appreciate NBA live mobile game as a great sports simulator, but, as they’re not so deep into basketball, they’ll have to learn much stuff fans already know. Especially if they have appreciated earlier mobile games. So they can skip the dull learning stage and go directly into gaming.
The game itself is done greatly. It runs smoothly on devices of 2013 and even earlier. NBA Live games by EA have always been an example of quality, a masterpiece of its kind, and NBA 2016 confirms its status.Collapse
The game is a real joybox for hardcore basketball fans, your free NBA Live you can be a part of; though this entertainment for hardcore freaks can be as expensive as visiting real games and buying real merch, it brings you in and lets you feel the game from the inside.
Pros : Realistic graphics;
Live NBA experience, from gaming timetables to real clubs and players;
High replay value.
Cons : High system requirements;
Necessity to be into basketball as it is.
