This mobile version should be familiar to those who grew up in the ’90s, playing PC strategies. Command & Conquer was a well-known title back then. And now EA decided to return to the once popular game. However, the name is the only thing left the same. This PVP is a new strategy in real time, head-to-head, made for mobile.

What concerns is the limit of map and strategy size, and its look even more similar to Clash of Clans than to its old-school version.

Graphics are good enough for such a game. Commanders are well-developed and even appealing from some angles. Is it just us or the red team looks prettier?

Gameplay 4.5/5

The whole idea behind the game is to provide players nice looking battlefield, two sides to choose, trained squads, weapon, cool tanks, helicopters, rockets, and push them head to head. Two people are playing on different sides. The time of battle can change depending on your own limits. Completing daily tasks you will receive bonuses and raise the level of your army.

And surprise, surprise… all the battles you lead, are not so pointless in the end. They are not all about fighting. There are missiles in the middle of the battlefield. You can destroy the headquarter of your enemy with its force. Or just send part of your troops to blow opponents base directly.

As for the commanders: you can choose your commander from 8 characters. Four in one team, and four in another. Each of them has a unique story to tell and skills in the fight to show. Lt. Strongarm can deploy minigun turrets at the battlefield, for example. She is from GDI, or as you may call it blue team. Choose Dr. Llang and he will heal the forces and summon drones.

Brotherhood of Nod is highlighted with red and has a tale of the scorpion as their emblem. Oxanna Kristos, whose main ability is to fight with rage and disregard, and the legendary Kane summons obelisk of light and looks like a child of Lex Luthor.

Controls 5/5

Game developers, during Command & Conquer: Rivals Review, were swearing that the control is so easy that even a child can handle it. All you have to do is tap on the object and then on a place you want to send it to. There are destination bases highlighted, so you can always choose and automatically your forces will be sent there. If two units are standing close, it is also not a problem – just tap on the one you want or switch them. Experienced gamers can even skip the Tutorial, as long as they feel comfortable. The controls are straightforward and pretty intuitive.

Replay Value 5/5

This game can’t let you go. You have to come back again and again. There are so many possibilities that you have not tried, and characters you want to play.

Unlike other strategy games, where heroes soon become dull, battle places look the same, and you have tried all the weapons, this one needs new opponents to make the game repeatedly engaging. As long as you have a new rival, it never repeats itself.

Conclusion

The main idea of the game is to let you think as fast as you can, analyze the perks of your rivals and strike in the most unexpected moment with your best weapon. The game has a variety of modern weapons to offer. Some of them even look like a walking transformer from your point of view. The goal is to get to the missile first, set your enemy’s base on fire and deplete their forces.
